RegEvent takes the privacy of your personal information very seriously. We will ensure that your personal data is held in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means that we use your personal information only for the purpose we have specified to you in our privacy statement. We will not pass your personal information to outside agencies (other than the Organiser of the event you have entered). We may contact you (either via the postal service or electronically) from time to time about relevant services we think you may be interested in (unless you expressly decline this option).

Who we are

RegEvent is a website that works on behalf of sports event organisers. It is responsible for gathering the personal data of competitors to running events advertised by organisers. At RegEvent, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to our web site. We want you to know that RegEvent DO NOT sell on your personal data to other businesses for marketing purposes. RegEvent take payments from entrants to running events. When we do this, we do it in a way that never exposes your banking details to us. Consequently, we never retain personal banking information on the site.

Types of data we collect and retain

In operating our website we may collect and process the following data about you: The website is intended to gather personal information that is deemed necessary for an event organiser to process your application. Obviously your name and address is important to identify who you are. Your address means that organisers can contact you to send out race packs or notify you when changes might occur for an event. Other forms of communication like email address and telephone numbers serve as alternative means by which they/we can contact you. We use email address and phone numbers to confirm your registration (via email and sms). Your date of birth is important for an organiser to help identify who you are, where you might have a common name for instance. It also provides them with the ability to categorise runners into different age groups. It is also used for pricing purposes to determine how much it costs to enter an event. Your gender is used to categorise you for prizes in male and female races.

When we collect this information we store it on a database and later send it to the event organiser who is arranging the event. It is important to understand that we only pass this information to the organiser of the event you are applying for. We don’t pass the information to other unrelated organisers that may use our site.

We retain your information long enough for an event organiser to be able to report on it and continue to report on it for a reasonable period. A reasonable period has been determined to be where the running event is less than 2 years old. Sometimes an event organiser may start taking entries for an event a year before the event starts so it may be you register when registration opens and in such a case your personal data would be retained for 3 years. When we remove data, it is deleted from our database. We retain backup copies of the database, off site, for anything up to 6 months.


Use of Cookies

We may, on occasion, gather information regarding your computer whilst you are on our website. This enables us to improve our services and to provide statistical information regarding the use of our website to our advertisers where appropriate. Such information will not identify you personally it is statistical data about our visitors and their use of our site. The data does not identify any personal details whatsoever. Similarly, we may gather information about your general internet use by using a cookie file. Where used, cookies are downloaded to your computer automatically and stored on the hard drive of your computer. They help us to improve our website and the service that we provide to you. All computers have the ability to decline cookies by activating the setting on your browser. Please note that should you choose to disable cookies, you may be unable to access particular parts of our website. Our advertisers may also use cookies, over which we have no control. Such cookies (if used) would be downloaded once you click on advertisements on our website.

The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018 gives you the right to access the information that we hold about you. You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information we hold free of charge.


Terms And Conditions For Event Entry

By registering for an event, you are entering into an agreement with the race organiser and not RegEvent. we do not accept liability for the failure to provide the advertised event. We make no warranty for the description / accuracy of an event.

Refunds are at the discretion of the race organiser (not withstanding your statutory rights for online purchases). You should contact the race organiser NOT RegEvent for refunds.

We are in no way liable for loss, injury or death of a competitor taking part in a registered event.
